Before you get started cutting acrylic there are a few tips and tricks for you to know.
Cutting acrylic sheets with cricut maker.
Place the small circle on top of the larger one in about the place you want the hole.
Score the line in the acrylic with a plastic scoring blade.
Select both just drag your mouse over them both at the same time go to align and select align horizontally.

Select a machine from the tabs below to view a list of materials with settings in design space that can be cut by your machine the chart also includes recommended blade type cutting pressure and multi cut settings.
But there are some things you need to be aware of.
And it engraves pretty quickly.
It is called knife blade.
Always do a sample first so you can get an idea of it.
The nice thing about using your cricut maker is that you can design anything and have it engraved on an acrylic sheet.
It is true that you can cut acrylic with your cricut as long as it is the right type of acrylic.
It will take several times to cut through.
The circut is capable of cutting materials up to 2 4 mm thick.

It doesn t do a bunch of passes like cutting through thick materials.
How to engrave acrylic with the cricut maker.
You can actually engrave and cut acrylic on the cricut maker.
Grab your acrylic and start engraving all the things.
Using your ruler as a guide run a plastic scoring blade along the cutting line trying to make one continuous line with gentle even pressure.
Engrave your design first and then start cutting the acrylic.
Pull the blade towards you along the line.
Now it is time for the big question.
Place the piece of acrylic on a self healing cutting mat and line your piece up with the grid.

Place the straight edge ruler where you want to cut and begin slicing holding the ruler steady as you do.
The thickness of the acrylic must be 1mm or less.
Choose your size adding 1 2 to slip down into the grove in the light and begin slicing.
Make a circle and resize to 3 inches.
Can the cricut maker cut acrylic.
Unfortunately you can t cut acrylic with the cricut maker but acrylic engraving works perfectly.
The cricut maker has 10 times the force of the other machines but that does not mean your air 2 will not be able to work with cutting your acrylic designs.
The cricut machine does not have an acrylic setting so we are experimenting a bit here.
